Overview

The A 200 is a stereo personal sound amplifier for people who may sometimes need to rely on artificial assistance for their hearing. Excellent

No device will correct hearing. Devices aid hearing and this one is great. We bought it for our 97 year old dad who'd gone almost completely deaf. Hearing aids are not practical for a lot of older people. (I'm a hearing aid wearer.) This device improved Dad's life and ours. He wore it to watch tv and would put it on when we needed to talk to him, ask him what he needed or wanted. We took it with us to doc appointments. Dad is gone but I've loaned it to a friend whose mom is 94 and in just a day communication improved.

    PRO:

It works great. Improves quality of life for people with hearing loss who aren't suited either because of age or abilities or temperament for hearing aids. It's much more user friendly than today's hearing aids and can be used as-needed.

    CON:

Wish I could get more assorted ear buds. Also, the dial could be positioned better - particularly someone very elderly.

    BEST USES:

For folks who need occasional aided hearing, and who want to hear the tv without having it so loud the rest of the household is miserable, for small group or one-on-one conversations.

    BOTTOM LINE:

I would recommend this to a friend.

Works As Designed But Not Perfect

My mother was spoiled by the IS410 on her TV and the ambient noise amplification is distracting.

    PRO:

    Inexpensive option

    CON:

    Abient Noise Is A Problem

    BEST USES:

    Basic Hearing Assistance

    BOTTOM LINE:

I would recommend this to a friend.

    Can be improved

This is my fourth device, and they have all the same problem, the volume button is intermittent. I need to turn it on - off many times to make it working. Can you just make them "Off" when they are recharging on the base an "On" again when they are removed from the base, this way we dont have to readjust the volume each time?

    PRO:

A real simple solution for occasional use. The sound is clear and loud.

    CON:

The volume button is far too small and not well located. The feedback is loud and hurts when the volume button is too high.

    BEST USES:

I use them at home and office mainly to talk with people. Fast to put and remove.

    BOTTOM LINE:

I would recommend this to a friend.
